Are you considering a career change or you are ready to move up the corporate ladder? Are you seeking a better-paying job? I can help you to successfully navigate these transitions, and develop and present the skills and competencies needed by employers. Today’s job market is constantly changing and is very competitive. Most job seekers I work with often say they have been posting résumés on various websites and not getting a response sometimes for six months.  I can help you to change the trajectory of your job search and enhance your digital presence as I help you develop your job target, design a dynamic résumé that aligns with Applicant Tracking Systems, and prepare for interviews, networking, and negotiation techniques.

More than 25 years of experience in career development/counseling, workforce development, rehabilitation counseling, and corporate (profit and on-profit) environments.

As we try to work in a post-COVID environment, the issue of mental health in the workplace is crucial to the success of today’s workers. With more than 15 years working in a crisis intervention setting, I understand the importance of mental health in the job search workplace and am able to provide empathetic coaching from start to finish of the coaching relationship.

When is the right time to invest in a Career Coach?

This is a personal decision; however, a career coach will not use a cookie-cutter approach and will provide guidance based on your situation and your goals. Consider the following as you determine when to seek the services of a career coach:

You are applying for jobs on websites, but not getting responses. A career coach can help  you to build a strong digital presence and leverage your knowledge and skills to get screened in by Applicant Tracking Systems.

You are unsure how to demonstrate your skills and competencies on a résumé. A career coach can help you to sort through the clutter and help to repurpose and represent your relevant skills that meet the needs of employers.

You are making a career transition after being in one industry for years or you feel you are stagnating in your present position. A career coach can help you to navigate the current job market, understand the reason for lack of movement then design a strategy for moving forward.

You are getting the interviews, but not the jobs. Interviewing in a post-Covid world has changed. A career coach will show you how to highlight your skills and knowledge for hybrid or telework environments and will help polish your presentation for interviews.

You are struggling with work-life balance. A career coach can help you set and maintain healthy boundaries, explore possibilities, and develop a plan to regain balance.

Résumé Writing

A résumé is more than words you put on a page and upload with your job application. Demand for on-line résumé services affects how we construct résumés. Résumés must now be industry specific, must have relevant skills and competencies that meet the needs of the employers, and must be submitted on company websites.

When employers use electronic scanning technology/Applicant Tracking Systems(ATS) to screen candidates each résumé is viewed only on average 15 seconds for you to be screened in or out of the initial application process. Let us help you create a dynamic résumé that meets the needs of today’s ATS.

Here are five reasons why you should get a professional résumé.

  • You want to create a positive first impression of skills in 10-15 seconds.

  • You want to get a quick response.

  • You want to get screened in for that first interview.

  • You want to present a professional error-free document focused on the needs of the employers.

  • You want to position yourself to show your value and get that salary you want.

Interviewing Techniques

Your résumé did the job and you got called for the interview. What happens next?

An interview may serve as a screening tool for future interviews and may be in person or online. Online interviews are like face-to-face interviews and carry the same level of stress. I can help you to prepare for the various types and phases of the interview using our digital interview prep-module.

Your career is a journey that you sculpt with your choices and passion.
